Nothing in this post has anything to do with this picture, which is simply to display a fun New Year's Eve reading time with N & G in The Goose's new room.
It is so cold here that they closed the schools. People. The low tonight is supposed to be 3. Wind chill tomorrow morning: -9. For crying out loud: This is Tennessee!
Husband seems to think that all of this hullaballoo is perfectly ridiculous, but it makes sense to me. Tennesseans do not have the kind of outterwear that is required for this weather. Hence, it's a danger to school children.
In other news, our new niece/cousin, LJ is still in the hospital working on keeping her temperature up. Her Mama is home and trying to balance life with a toddler while pumping and running back and forth to the hospital. Not something I envy, but we're so glad to have a little girl in the fam.
Today was my first day with students. It was relatively uneventful for which I am eternally grateful. After teaching 9th graders for a couple years, the calm of adult ed is infinitely refreshing and relieving.
Not much other news, so I'll leave you with an "Overheard in the Car While Listening to a Brad Paisley CD" snippet:
K (to B): "I don't think that "Alcohol" song is appropriate for preschool ears."
B (to K): "Which one should I change it to?"
J: "Put it on the "Wah-Wah" song!"
K: "It's #4 -- he likes that one."
Brad: "If I lose my better judgment/And take up smokin' crack/Right then, that's when, I'll take you back."
K: "See? Told you it was more age appropriate."
OUSB,
